Police Officers Shot and Injured by Gunmen in St Catherine Still in Hospital

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The police high command have reported that the two police officers who were ambushed and shot by a group of heavily armed robbers in St Catherine on Sunday morning, are presently still at hospital in serious but stable condition.

We have also been told that, one of the officers has suffered a broken limb from the gunmen bullets, while the other was shot in the regions of his leg. Both officers, Constables Orane Josephs and Williams are both assigned to the Shady Grove police station.

Reports are that about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, the lawmen responded to a radio message that a robbery was in progress at a business establishment located at Union Square in St Catherine.

They both responded and upon arrival, they were ambushed by heavily armed men who were hidden on the roof of the building . The men opened fire hitting both police officers who managed to escape without being killed.

The gunmen escape in the area, while the police officers who called for back up were assisted by other members of the Constabulary Force to hospital, where they were treated and admitted.
