Detective Woman Corporal, Valerie McIntosh, and Constable Otwani Deer were found guilty of corruption charges when they appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on the weekend.
McIntosh and Deer who were both on a $1-million bail were sentenced to nine months in prison, and eight months in prison, respectively.
Reports are that on Sunday, January 13, 2013, McIntosh and Deer who were both attached to the St Andrew North Police Division, solicited the sum of $100,000 from a male individual, to drop a charge against him after he breached his bail condition.
At the time the male informed them that he only had $50,000 and that he would pay them the rest the following day.
Arrangements were made to make the second payment, but the male reported the matter to the Anti Corruption Branch, who in turn sent a file to the DPP for a ruling and both officers were arrested.
