A police officer attached to the Clarendon police Division was shot and injured by armed robbers, who held up and robbed the officers friend of cash amounting to over $200,000.
The injured police officer was treated at hospital and admitted in serious but stable condition.
Reports are that the officer accompanied his friend to York Town in Clarendon, to purchase a motor cycle on Wednesday afternoon.
They drove to a section of the area called Parnassus, and were ambushed by armed men travelling in a grey Toyota Probox motor car.
The men then opened fire hitting the officer, before escaping in the waiting motor car.
