Police Nabbed for Allegedly Stealing Money During Operation in St Elizabeth

Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: A Police constable was arrested after he was found in possession of  $95,000.00 JMD stolen from a premises in Lacovia, St Elizabeth, on Thursday, July 4.

The name of the constable is being withheld pending further investigations.

According to reports, about 4:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, a team of Police officers went on an operation to apprehend a man on warrant, who resides in New Alley lane, in the Lacovia Police area.

It is further reported that the accused man house was searched and he was apprehended. During the operation, about 300 pounds of ganja was seized. One of the officers who was on location stole $95,000.00 belonging to the accused.

The officer was searched by the Sergeant in charge of the Lacovia police area and the money was found in his ballistics vest. He was immediately taken into custody and statements recorded.
