Police Make Breakthrough into Identity of Robber Chopped and Stoned to Death, in Rosemount Gardens

Latest Jamaica News, St James (McKoy’s News): Robber Chopped and Stoned to Death The Freeport police say they have now made a breakthrough into the identity of an unidentified robber, who was chopped and stoned to death, minutes after being caught breaking into a house in Rosemount Gardens community, in Montego Bay, St James, on Friday, August 23.

The dead robber has been identified as Orette Freeburn, otherwise called “Blacks” also of a Rosemount Gardens address.

At the time of the incident, the Investigators identified Orette to be his of dark complexion, slim built, about 5ft-10ins tall, and appears to be in his mid-twenties.

He was clad only in a underpants.

Reports by the police are that about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, a female homeowner came home from work and discovered that a window to her bedroom was broken into.

She then heard strange sounds coming from the bedroom and upon investigating, she saw Freeburn hiding under her bed.

She immediately raised an alarm and a large crowd of community members rushed to her assistance, and dragged Freeburn from the house.

He was dragged from the house to a section of the roadway, where he was beaten, chopped and stoned to death.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, Freeburn was discovered lying in a pool of blood, with large stones beside his head.

The scene was processed, and the police recovered several items which he had earlier removed from the female’s house.
