St James Police Launched Manhunt for Three Gunmen who Killed Taxi Man

St James, Jamaia (McN) -The police in the parish of St James have now launched a manhunt for three gunmen, one of whom is believed to have been stabbed and injured by a taxi operator who was shot and killed by the men during a robbery in Mount Salem community on Wednesday night, April 12.

These gunmen are been sought for the murder of Clifton Blake, 63-year-old of a Clarkes Street address also in Mount Salem.

Reports in to Mckoy’s News are that a bout 7:45 pm on Wednesday Blake was operating his Blue Toyota ISIS motor car registered PG 2595 from downtown Montego Bay to Mount Salem.

On reaching the Mount Salem main road, three male passengers brandished handguns and demands that he hand over the vehicle.

The taxi operator refused and a struggle ensued between him and the gunmen, at what point it is said that Blake pulled a knife and stabbed one of the men.

The gunmen opened fire hitting Blaze to abdomen and then pushed the wounded driver from the vehicle unto the roadway before escaping in his said motor car.

The wounded taxi operator was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

St. James police need help in their manhunt: Anyone with information that can assist the police in the capture of these men are been asked to contact the Mount Salem police, the Freeport police or the nearest police station.
