Police Launch Investigation into Murder of Jamaican/Canadian Killed in Westmoreland

Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): The Westmoreland police say they have commenced a full investigation surrounding the shooting death of a Jamaican/Canadian resident, and the shooting and wounding of two other men, at a bar in the parish on Monday, November 4.

He has been identified as 33-year-old Orane Reid, otherwise called “Rhyno” construction worker of Ottawa in Canada and Little London in Westmoreland.

Reports by the Savanna la mar police are that about 5:40 p.m., on Monday, Reid who recently arrived in the island and the two other men were among a group of patrons at a bar in the community, when a motor car drove up, and a group of armed men alighted from the vehicle.

The men opened fire hitting Reid and the other two victims multiple times to their bodies, before escaping in the same motor car.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, Reid and the other two victims were seen suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead and the other two victims admitted in serious condition.
