Police Investigating Suspected Suicide in Clarendon

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: The Frankfield police in the parish of Clarendon say they are now carrying out a probe behind the death of a farmer, who is suspected to have committed suicide in his community on Monday, November 26.

The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Leroy Lewinson,  farmer of Top Quarter District in Smithville, Clarendon.

Reports by the police are that about 7:30 p.m., residents living at a section of Clarendon known as McNie district, stumbled upon Lewinson, hanging from the branch of a tree and raised an alarm.

The lawmen drove to a bushy section of the community and upon their arrival, they discovered Lewinson who was hanging from the branch of a tree, by a piece of rope which was suspended from the branch.

The body was removed and the scene processed.
