Jamaica Crime News, St James: The joint military forces in the parish of St James are now combing sections of the parish in search of three armed men, who they say is behind a drive-by shooting, which resulted in two men being shot and injured in Catherine Hall community on Wednesday night, January 30.
The police have reported that men being sought are armed with high-powered weapons and are believed to be among a group of men who were recently released from the Freeport lock-up, after being detained under the State of Emergency for the past five months.
It is reported that shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, both victims were sitting in a motor car which was parked in the vicinity of Catherine Hall round-about, when three men traveling on board another motor car pulled up alongside them.
Two men jumped from the vehicle and sprayed the other car with bullets, resulting in both occupants being shot and injured.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, both men were transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Several M-16 and 9-mm spent shells were removed from the scene.
