Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The St Catherine police say they have now identified a suspect, who they believe can assist them in their investigations into the death of a female USA national, who was shot and killed by a group of gunmen in St Catherine on Tuesday afternoon of June 19th. Another man was shot and injured in the same incident,
One police source told our news team that, they are not prepared to comment much further on the matter as the investigation has now reached a vital point, but he can confirm that the suspect has been identified.
24-year-old Armelia Frazer of a Connecticut address in the USA was shot and killed, while her male friend was shot and injured after gunmen launched an attack on the vehicle in which they were travelling.
Reports by the Central Village Police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Frazer along with the wounded driver and three other persons were travelling in a motor vehicle along a section of the Caymanas main road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, another motor car with four men travelling on board drove up to them and the men brandished handguns and opened fire on the vehicle.
Frazer and the driver were both shot and injured. They were immediately rushed to Hospital where the female was pronounced dead and the male driver admitted in serious condition.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, it was discovered that the vehicle in which the gunmen were travelling while making their escape crashed some distance away. The investigators combed the area in search of the gunmen, but without success.
