Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)Police Hunt Lone Gunman: The police in St James are still combing sections of the parish in search of a lone gunman who reportedly fired at the police after a car in which he was traveling was intercepted for breaches of the Road Traffic Act.

Reports are that about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, a team of officers were on Traffic Duty along a section of the Irwin main road in Montego Bay when they noticed a car with three men on board in breach of the Road Traffic Act.

The car was signaled to stop and the driver sped off in the direction of Porto Bello. The vehicle was chased by the police and were in the process of intercepting it when it came to a stop and one man jumped out with a firearm in his hand.

The armed man opened fire at the police and the fire was returned. During this time the gunman escaped on foot in the area, while the vehicle in which he was traveling sped off.
