Jamaica News: The police High command in Kingston and St Andrew have now indicated that in the future there will be better security measures set in place when high profile gang leaders and criminal figures are appearing in Court.

This decision was taken after it was reported that death threats were made on the life of a specific Parish Court Judge who was set to sit the case involving reputed West Kingston gang leader, Leighton Levity Coke, and five other men who appeared in Court on murder charges on Wednesday.

One police source confirms that this particular Judge who is based at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court is famous for the role he plays in sentencing several high profile killers, hardcore criminals, and drug kingpins.

The police in the parish have reported that, following news of the threat, a stronger security detail has been assigned to that specific Judge and also additional security has been implemented around the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The police say the sitting went undisturbed but better security measures will be implemented in the future.
