Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Wage Talks Progressing Slowly: The Police Federation is reporting that it is making slow progress in wage talks with the government.

The Federation’s Central Executive, in communicating with their members, stated that they met with officials of the Finance Ministry on Monday to continue wage negotiations.

Rudyard Spencer, State Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, presented the government’s position on outstanding items in the previous contract and the Federation’s latest wage claim.

There was no agreement at the end of the meeting. Both sides are to resume wage negotiations on Saturday.

The Police Federation has rejected the government’s six percent wage offer.
