Jamaica News, April 17, 2018 – Police Corporal Chopped by Alleged Madman
Manchester, Jamaica (McKoy’s New) – A police Corporal attached to the Christiana Police Station in Manchester is now at hospital in serious but stable condition, following an incident where he was severely chopped by a man believed to be of unsound mind, on Tuesday morning, April 18.
Reports are that shortly after 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, the police Corporal and other police officers were on traffic duties along a section of the Christiana main road, when they saw the man acting in a boisterous manner.
The police Corporal and his squad members were in the process of reprimanding the alleged mentally challenged man, when the accused used a machete to inflict several chop wounds to his upper body.
It is further reported that, one of the officers pulled his service revolver and opened fire hitting the attacker.
Both the wounded cop and the alleged mad man were rushed to the Mandeville Public Hospital, where the wounded cop was treated and admitted, and his attacker admitted under police guard.
