Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A police Constable and his female companion, were both charged for July 1, 2018, murder of another man in Kingston, on Monday, April 1.
He has been identified as 30-year-old Police Constable Junior Hayles, who was assigned to the Kingston Eastern Division. He has been charged with murder.
The female, 34-year-old Nicola Montague, a beautician who resides at Daytona in Portmore, St. Catherine is facing charges of Conspiracy to murder.
Both accused has been charged in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Vince Walcot, otherwise called “Steven Chambers” of Mount Royal Estate, in Bridgeport, St Catherine.
Reports by the police are that about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, residents living at Rousseau Road in Kingston 5, summoned the fire department after they observed tyres being burnt behind the compound of a church.
Upon the arrival of the firefighters, the blaze was put out and the following cooling down operation, the burnt remains were discovered beneath the rubble.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, the scene was processed, and the remains removed to the morgue.
A DNA result revealed that the remains were those of Walcott and an Investigations which was later carried out led the police to believed that he was murdered during a love triangle gone sour, involving the Constable and the female.
A file was prepared and sent off to the Director of Public Prosecution for a ruling. And during the course of last weekend, the police Constable and the female were charged.
