Jamaica Crime News, Portland: The Portland Police have confirmed that a man who is one of three men who challenged the police in a shootout, in East Portland, on Tuesday afternoon, February 12, was shot and injured, and is presently at hospital under police guard.
The police also reported that an AK 47 assault rife fitted with a magazine containing five 5.56 rounds was taken from the injured gunman.
Reports by the Port Antonio police are are that on Tuesday afternoon about 5:10 p.m., a team of police were on patrol duties along sections of White River located in Norwich, Portland, when they were fired upon by a group of armed men.
The lawmen took cover and returned the fire. During the confrontation, the gunmen was shot. His two other cronies managed to escape.
