In a reversal of roles, Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) President, Carmen Johnson (right), has her temperature checked by President of the Jamaica Chinese Friendship Association (JCFA), Irena Cousins, while JCFA Vice-President, Wilson Look Kin, observes the procedure. Occasion was a brief handing-over ceremony for the JCFA’s presentation of personal protective equipment and other medical supplies to the NAJ at the association’s head office in Kingston, on Friday (July 24). The provisions include 200 infra-red thermometers and 200 facemasks for use by the nurses in the fight against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Jamaica. The masks were donated by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jamaica and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) in Beijing. The CPAFFC is the JCFA’s parent body. The donation was also made possible through the JCFA’s COVID-19 fund raising drive.
