Two men who were listed as Persons of Interest in the recent multi-million dollar robbery in Montego Bay, St James, which left a security officer and a courier driver dead, were apprehended during a police operation at a night club in Chester Castle, in Hanover, on Friday night, March 15.
The men have been identified as 26-year-old, Demier Brown otherwise called ” Bummie Squeeze ” and Dwayne Barnes otherwise called ” Tickerous”, both of St James addresses.
The Freeport police reported that acting upon intelligence received, a team of officers carried out an operation at a Night Club in Chester Castle, Hanover, about 3:30a.m., on Friday.
During the operation, both men who were listed as Persons of Interest in the recent double murder and robbery, were seen on the premises of the night club, and they were taken into custody.
The police reported that on Sunday, March 10, 41-year-old, Floyd Wilson otherwise called ” Tony” courier driver of Rosemount Gardens in Mount Salem, and 61-year-old Canute Earl, a security guard of Norwood, were shot and killed during a multi-million dollar heist in Montego Bay.
Another security guard who was also shot up during the incident is said to be recuperating well but is still at the hospital in stable condition.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 8:00 a.m., on Sunday, Wilson who is employed as a courier driver to a Chinese owned wholesale in was transporting several million dollars from cash, from other outlets to the main office.
On reaching a section of Jarrett Street in Montego Bay, a group of men armed with high powered weapons blocked the path of the minivan, and also blocked the path of the Hawkeye Security vehicle which was escorting the courier driver.
Men armed with high powered weapons and allegedly clad in police denim, jumped from both vehicles and open fire on the minibus and also on the security vehicle.
Wilson was killed instantly, while and Earl and the other security guard were shot multiple times by the men, who proceeded to rob the cash from the van and sped off in the waiting motor car.
The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, Earl and the other security guard were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where Earl was pronounced dead and his co-worker admitted in serious condition.
Another man, 35-year-old, Kayon Wellington, otherwise called ” Scatta or Sparta” who the police say was also fingered in the robbery, was shot and killed in Belmont district, St James on Tuesday evening.
