Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- PENSIONER ROBBED AND CHOPPED: The Sandy Bay police in Hanover are now in search of a man who they say robbed and attacked and chopped a 75-year-old Pensioner almost to death in the community of Hopewell, Hanover on Friday afternoon. The victim is said to be at the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Reports are that between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Friday, September 29th, 2017, the robber who is now been sought by the law armed himself with a machete and broke into the Pensioners home at the Orchard Housing Scheme in Hopewell.
The victim and his wife had left the house earlier that morning but he returned home alone that afternoon and discovered that several blades to a back window of the house were removed. The victim then heard sounds coming from inside the house so he armed himself with a stick and went inside.
He was then attacked by the robber who used the machete to inflict several chop wounds all over his body. The robber then made his escape from the house with cash and other items. The wounded man managed to raise and alarms and other neighbors assisted him to the Hospital followed by which the police were summoned.
The police indicated that over a period of time a number of house breaking’s have taken place at the Orchard Housing Scheme and it is believed that the man who is now being sought as been behind these robberies.
