Kingston: Pedestrians Mowed Down by Taxi Driver in Half Way Tree

Jamaica News, March 16, 2018 – Pedestrians Mowed Down                      

Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Two men were rushed to hospital in serious conditions on Friday, March 16,  after they were mowed down by a taxi operator in Half Way Tree,  St Andrew.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Friday, the driver of a Nissan Sunny motor car which is being used to operate as route taxi, was driving along a section of the busy roadway in the Half Way Tree area.

On reaching the vicinity of Mandela Park, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle which mowed down the two male pedestrians and then crashed into a wall.

Both victims who suffered injuries were assisted to hospital by other pedestrians and a team of Traffic Officers who were at the location.

The driver who escaped unhurt was given an on the spot breathalyzer test, then taken into custody and warned for prosecution.
