Jamaica’s Olympic and World Championships 400m bronze medallist Shericka Jackson recorded a personal best in winning the women’s 100m in 11.02 seconds bettered her previous personal best of 11.13 done in 2018 on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Series Two of the Olympics Destiny Series at the National Stadium.
Jackson’s MVP teammate Shockori Wallace finished second in 11.34 and Jean Williams of Racers third in 11.44.
In the men’s event, 2019 Doha World long jump champion Tajay Gayle won his heat in 10.18 to be the third-fastest overall.
Beijing 2008 Olympic and Berlin 2009 world 400m hurdles champion Melaine Walker ran 14.17 for fourth in the women’s 100m hurdles, won by Yanique Thompson, 13.36.
Moscow 2013 400m bronze medallist Stephenie-Ann McPherson ran 22.97 to beat her MVP teammates Natasha Morrison, 23.08 and Srabani Nanda, 23.43 in the women’s 200m.
