The Narcotics Police on Thursday,  August 2nd, seized ganja weighing approximately 400 pounds,  on premises at Spice Grove community in the parish of St Elizabeth.
The police say no one has been arrested so far in connection with the seizure,  but they are presently carrying out a series of investigations, which have led them to believe that they are now close to apprehending two men in connection with this latest seizure.
Reports by the police are that about 9:30 pm, a team of officers attached to the Narcotics Division, carried out an operation at a section of the Spice Grove community.
During the operation, a premise was searched and it led to the discovery of Seven knitted bags.  The bags contained 48 parcels, each with compressed ganja.
The drug is estimated at a street value of Jamaican $1.6 million dollars.
The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.
