Over 100 Murder Victim in St. James for 2019

Latest St James Crime News [ Mckoy’s News ] Over 100 Murder Victim – The Barnett Street police have commenced an investigation surrounding the shooting death of a man outside a bar, in Montego Bay, St James, on Wednesday night, September 11.

The latest victim has been identified so far only as “Kevin”  and he is the 100 person to be murdered in the parish of St James, since the start of the year.

Reports by the police are that about 11:30 p.m., the man known as Kevin and another man were standing outside the Reggae Bar, located at the intersection of Collymore Drive and McCathy Street, in Montego Bay, when a lone gunman walked up to them and open fire, hitting the unidentified “Kevin” multiple times to his upper body.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the man known as “Kevin” was discovered lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Last year the parish ended with a total of 105 murders, and in September of 2018, the parish had recorded only 67 murders, which is 33 less than the current year.
