Other Criminal Charges to be Laid Against Goat Thief Caught with 23 Stolen Goats in Motor Car

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: The police in Clarendon have reported that they are now carrying out investigations to lay other criminal charges against a man, who was caught in possession of 23 stolen goats in a Toyota Caldina motor car in the parish on Saturday,  August 4.

According to the police, they have discovered that the accused, Derron Taylor, 29-year-old laborer of Hollywood Road,  Phase 11 in Hayes,  Clarendon, has been involved in other crimes.

The police say they are now preparing a report which will see additional charges being laid against the accused in the next few days.

In the meanwhile, a search is still on for the driver of the motor car in which the 23 stolen goats were discovered.

Reports by the police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday,  a team of officers were carrying out patrol duties in Hayes community when they saw two men traveling in a Toyota  Caldina motor car along a section of the Hayes main road.

The police further stated that they signaled the driver of the vehicle to stop and he drove a short distance away then ran from the vehicle leaving Taylor behind.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

Taylor was held and the lawmen discovered 23 stolen goats which were packed in the trunk of Toyota Caldina motor car.

He was subsequently charged with Larceny of Goat.

The Hayes police say they are now asking the driver of the vehicle to report to the station.  Also, they are asking members of the public who have had goats stolen to come to the Hayes police station to make a report.
