Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Former PM Simpson-Miller and Omar Davies Resign: Former Prime Minister of Jamaica and Member of Parliament for South West St Andrew, The Most Honourable Portia Simpson-Miller along with Former Cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament for South St Andrew, Dr. Omar Davis are to resign.
This has been confirmed by Leader of Opposition Business Phillip Paulwell that they will demit office on June 29.
Mr . Paulwell informed that, they will both submit letters of intent to resign to the Speaker of the House shortly.
In accordance with the laws of Jamaica, such letters; once handed to the Speaker, become immediately effective, hence today’s letters are letters of intent and not resignations.
