Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: Olympic Gardens Man ChargedA St. Andrew man who resides in Olympic Gardens, was arrested on Monday, April 8, for obtaining money by false pretence, after he allegedly scammed eight persons of hundreds of thousands of dollars, to provide them with USA Visa and overseas job employment.

The accused has been identified as Eric George Miller.

Reports by the police are that, Miller was arrested and charged, after he collected cash ranging from $75, 000 to $160,000 to present individuals with overseas jobs, and H2B Visa.

The police reported that over a period of three months, Miller convinced the applicants to deposit money into his account, and in turn presented them with a bogus visa application date.

The job seekers then turned up at the US Embassy, only to find out that no Visa application has been made for them.

Several attempts were made to get in touch with Miller via cell phone, but they all proved futile. The police launched an investigation, and they along with their American counterparts managed to apprehend Miller.

He is booked to appear in court at a later date.
