Off-duty cop shot Man dead after reportedly pointing gun at him

Jamaica News: An Off-Duty Police Officer shot a man dead after he reportedly pointed a gun at him in St Thomas on Monday.

 

While a .357 Magnum revolver containing three .357 mm cartridges was immediately retrieved from the gunman after the incident.

 

He has been identified as 43-year-old Garfield Wright, otherwise called ‘Foodie’ of Middleton district in the parish.

 

The police reported that the shooting occurred at approximately 2.30 am on Monday, November 11.

 

No further details were provided of the incident.

 

The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the shooting incident.
