Jamaica News, St Elizabeth: Residents of some St Elizabeth communities are being urged to brace for two weeks of either no water or low water pressure in their taps.

The warning came from the national water commission and is as a result of maintenance work at the NWC’s Southampton facility.

The water lock off will affect some

communities along the farming belt including Southampton, Northampton, Top Burnt Ground, Leeds, Seven Corners, Waterloo, Longwood, Jerusalem, Oliver Park, Glenco, Beadles Boulevard, Boxwood, Grosmond, Beadles Heights and Free Town.

The lock offs will come into effect tomorrow July 28.

Affected customers are urged to get in touch with the NWC offices in their area to request trucked water.

This planned lock off is yet another inconvenience for persons, including those in the breadbasket parish of St Elizabeth, who are already grappling with the effects of the drought.
