Jamaica News: Nursing Students Restore Hopes – The trip to Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland made by St. Christopher’s nursing students to aid fire victims saw also to the needs of less fortunate residents in the Dunbars and Barracks street community.
Singer EQ who hails from Barracks street community marshalled the proceedings in the community. Food packages inclusive of rice ,peas, tin milk, cooking oil and oats were given, also clothing for both children and adults were given to residents courtesy of the Lola Cunningham Foundation and Food For The Poor.
The Lola Cunningham foundation will be teaming up with Food For The Poor to see if they can contribute houses to some of the needy people in the community, for instance, Adassa James who lives in a damaged infrastructure. Keen attention was paid to less fortunate residents such as Julius Llewellyn who have one leg.
Prior to the visit to Savanna-la-mar, the student nurses made a stop at the Anchovy police station where they met police officers and photos were also taken.
