Jamaica News, Portland: Nomination Day in East Portland – This morning Friday, March 15, is expected to be a historical moment in the East Portland Constituency, as dozens of party delegates representing the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP) are expected to turn out to the polls for the Nomination Day encounter.
Following the recent demise of sitting PNP Member of Parliament, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield, the constituency is now seeing two new prospective candidates in the likes of the Jamaica Labour Party, Ann Marie Vaz and the People’s National Party, Damion Crawford.
This time around, the Nomination Day exercise which normally takes place at the Electoral Office building, will now take place at the Port Antonio Court House.
Both candidates, Damion Crawford is expected to reach the polls by 10:00 a.m., while his female contender is expected to cast her vote at 11:30 a.m.
