No Charge Laid Against Man Who Shoot Brother-in-law to Save his Wife’s Life

Jamaica News, St Ann: The St Ann police have indicated that no criminal charges have been laid against a licensed firearm holder who reportedly shot and killed his mentally challenged brother in law in order to save his wife from being chopped to death on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.

One police officer told our news team that, the matter is still under investigation but it can be proven that the accused acted in a manner to save the life of another, so no charges were laid against him in connection with the death of Earl Fullerton, otherwise called “Buja”,  44-year-old farmer of Collin Park District in Rio Hoe also in Moneague, St Ann

Reports by the Moneague police are that, shortly after 7:00 a.m. last Wednesday, the licensed firearm holder and his wife, who is the sister of the deceased, were at home when an argument developed between Fullerton and his sister.

Fullerton, who is said to be mentally challenged, armed himself with a machete and chased his sister around the yard in a bid to chop her. The Licensed firearm holder who was inside the house overheard his wife crying for help and ran outside to investigate.

He called out to Fullerton, but he ignored him and chopped viciously at his sisters head.  To avoid his wife being killed, the licensed firearm holder reached for his licensed firearm and open fire hitting Fullerton to his upper body

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
