Jamaica News: The synthetic Stadium East running track at the National Stadium is to be replaced at a cost of $71.5 million.

This was disclosed by Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Senator the Hon. Ruel Reid, during Wednesday’s (November 14) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.

He informed that Cabinet has approved the award of the contract to German entity, BSW, to undertake the work.

Meanwhile, Senator Reid informed that the Government has contracted the marketing and advertising services of Beautiful Destinations for the tourism sector.

He said Cabinet has approved the award of a contract to the entity in the sum of US$3.85 million for a three-year period, from November 1, 2018 to October 31, 2021.

This includes a monthly commission of 9.9 per cent for media services, which averages $15 million per year for the contract’s duration.
