Jamaica News: Local physical education teachers and coaches are set to benefit from clinics hosted by Silver Ferns legend Irene Van Dyk from August 15-17 at the National Arena in Kingston.
The partnership was agreed between Netball Jamaica and the New Zealand High Commission.
In addition to helping coaches and teachers with the fundamentals of
the sports, the three day clinic will also help to promote healthy lifestyles.
New Zealand High Commissioner to Jamaica Daniel Mellsop said “I am delighted that Irene is visiting Jamaica which supports our shared sporting values and as a mechanism to empower young women”.
Dr Paula Daley-Morris, President of Netball Jamaica, in expressing her gratitude for the partnership said “The people of Jamaica, particularly, the Netball Jamaica fraternity are immensely grateful for this contribution to the development of the sport.“
The first day of the clinic, August 15 will mark the beginning of Netball Jamaica’s 60 year anniversary.
