Jamaica News, February 28, 2018 – Robert Montague Tours Montego Bay Inner City
Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Minister of National Security, the Hon Robert Montague and a team of political representatives along with members of the Joint Military toured sections of the inner city in Montego Bay on Saturday, February 23, 2018.
The Minister told reporters that the main purpose of his visit to Montego Bay was so that he could get a firsthand view of the people, especially the business community and vendors, as well as, to know the impact that the State of Emergency had created.
The Minister also pointed out that he had gotten a positive reaction from the residents and he is not feeling assured that phase two of the security measures will be very effective.
He also pointed out that he received a very confident feedback from the residents, and the business community is now feeling much safer since the State of Emergency.
According to him, he knows that this is just a window, but he is now confident that based on the effect that the State of Emergency has taken on the parish he and his team are now better equipped to deal with the new crime plans.
