St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Murders Near Montego Bay Airport: the Jamaica Constabulary Force (Jamaica Police) gives an update on the joint operation of the Jamaica Constabulary and Jamaica Defence Force (Soldier) since the State of Emergency was announced for St James by PM Andrew Holness last Thursday, January 18, 2018.
According to the Constabulary, the joint operation acted fast on intelligence and planning as they penetrated St James most violent areas. This has resulted in the arrest of 197 persons within the first three days of the operation. Heavy security force concentration is being given to St James communities that are prone to the tyranny or gang violence, such as Norwood, Flankers, Glendevon, and Salt Spring among others.
Murders Near Montego Bay Airport: the operation most noted apprehension so far is the arrest of eight (8) persons in connection with the movie style shooting death incident along Sunset Boulevard near the Sangster International Airport, in Montego Bay on Tuesday, January 16.
Police say the operation has also arrested two alleged murderers in relation to a man shot and killed in the upscale community of Ironshore, St James.
The Jamaica security forces thanks, residents in the affected areas of James who may have met some inconvenience. They are encouraging persons to co-operate with them.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the State of Emergency has been in extensive planning for many months – as this kind of operation cannot be effective without careful intelligence and planning.
