St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A man was shot and killed by gunmen as he attended the funeral services for a friend at the Dovecott Cemetery in St James, on Thursday April 20th.

Mckoy’s News has been informed that the victim is identified as Alando Sawe of a Spot Valley address in St James.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00 am on Thursday the victim was attending the funeral service for Carlton Hopwood a barber  of a Rosevale Address, in St. James who was found dead last month. He was among a group of persons at a funeral proceeding been held at the St. James Dovecott Memorial Park Cemetery in Orange District when he was approached by two men.

It is further reported that one of the men brandished a handgun and fired several shots hitting the victim to his
upper body.

The gunmen made their escape in a waiting motor car while the police were alerted and the wounded man rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The scene was visited by the Montego Bay police who cordoned off a section of the cemetery trying to put the clues together to see what lead to Sawe’s death.
