Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man on Murder Rap to Face Committal Hearing:  A 27-year-old mechanic accused of killing his lover’s common-law husband before dumping his body will face a committal hearing on August 9.

Nicholas Gunter, who is of an Elderslie, St. Elizabeth address appeared before presiding judge Natalie Hart-Hines at the St. James Parish Court on Friday.

During Friday’s proceedings, the judge scheduled the committal hearing date for August 9 and remanded Gunter to police custody.

He is represented by attorney-at-law Dalton Reid.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a love triangle which resulted in the accused issuing several threats to the deceased prior to the incident.

According to the allegations, on June 1, 2016, Stevens, who was residing at Sweetwater in St. James at the time of the incident, called out the deceased from his house before using a piece of iron to hit him to the back of his head.

It is further alleged that he and other persons then placed Steven’ body in the back of a car then drove to a certain location and left his body there. Stevens’ body was later found by passersby who alerted the police.
