Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Mount Salem Taxi Operator Shot: A popular taxi operator who plies the downtown Montego Bay route to Mount Salem was shot along with a female passenger on Friday night, December 29, 2017.
Both victims were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
The Mount Salem police have reported that shortly after 10:00 pm on Friday, the taxi operator picked up the female passenger and another man in downtown Montego Bay and headed for Rosemount Gardens.
On reaching the area, the male passenger was in the process of alighting from the taxi when two armed men opened fire on the vehicle hitting the driver and the female.
The male passenger ran and managed to escape unhurt while the driver managed to drive from the scene. The driver was assisted by other motorists who transported both victims to the hospital where they were treated and admitted.
