Motorcyclist Taken into Custody in Connection with Firearm Seizure in St James
Jamaica Crime News, St James: One man is now in custody in connection with a firearm seizure in the community of John’s Hall, St James, on Thursday afternoon, June 28.
The police have reported that the name of the accused man is being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the Granville police are that shortly after 2:15 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out patrol duties along a section of the John’s Hall main road when they saw two men travelling on a motorcycle and signaled the rider to stop. The pillion jumped from the motorcycle, ran and threw away a bag. The rider was held and the bag retrieved.
The bag was searched and found to contain one Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with one live round. The weapon was seized and the accused taken into custody.
