Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Motorcycle Accident Claim Two Lives: A bloody motorcycle collision which occurred along a section of the Shrewsbury main road in Westmoreland on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, has left a teenaged student and another man of the same community dead.

The victims have been identified as 17-yr-old Odaine Brooks, student of the Knockalva High School and of River Head district in Westmoreland and 23-yr-old Anthony Hamilton, unemployed of Shrewsbury district in the parish.

Reports by the Whithorne police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, both Brooks, and Hamilton were traveling on their motorcycles in opposite directions. On reaching a section of Shrewsbury community known as Black Ants road, both motorcycles collided.

The impact of the crash left both Hamilton and Brooks suffering from head and body injuries. They were rushed to the Sav La Mar Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Since the start of the year a number of motorcyclists have lost their lives along that section of the main road. The police are therefore asking motorists and motorcyclists using that section of the roadway to proceed with extreme caution and to cease and desist from speeding.
