The double murder of the mother and her son took place just weeks following the shooting death of a 91-year-old woman and her 15-year-old neighbour, in a neighbouring community in Lucea.
Our news team went to the community which was in a somber mood and spoke to Authurene Rhodney – Reid, mother of the slain woman and grandmother of the slain man.
Mrs Reid told our news team that, last night she was in her house which is close to her daughter’s home.
According to the woman, she had just finished watching cricket when they heard a barrage of gunshots being fired in the direction of her daughter and grandson’s house.
They went to investigate and found them both suffering from gunshot wounds. She pointed out that her daughter was a very kind and loving person who never deserve to die in this manner.
