Mother and Son Among Three Persons Arrested in Connection with Illegal Firearm Seizure, in Montego Bay

Latest Jamaica News, St James: The police in St James have confirmed that a female craft vendor and her son, are among three persons arrested and charged, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, in Catherine Hall community on Tuesday, August 6.

Facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are 58-year-old Venese Belle, a craft vendor of Lot 428, Catherine Hall, her 34-year-old son, Darron Belle and his friend, 33-year-old Jevaughn Chamberlin, both craft vendors.

Reports by the police are that between the hours of 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., a team of officers carried out an operation at a premises occupied by the three accused in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay,

During a search of a house, the lawmen discovered a  3.57magnum revolver, which contained four live rounds.

The mother, along with her son and his friend, were taken into custody and subsequently slapped with charges.

They are booked to appear in the Western Regional Gun Court at a later date.
