Latest Jamaica News, Montego Bay (McKoy’s News): Montego Bay Police Launch Manhunt for Armed RobbersThe Barnett Street police in Montego Bay, St James, say they are now in search of three armed men, who shot and injured a 35-year-old truck operator, while attempting to carry out a brazen daylight robbery at the Tip Top barbershop along Barnett Street, in Montego Bay, St James, on Monday morning, September 16.

The injured man who was a customer at the establishment is presently at hospital in stable condition.

Reports by the police are that about 9:15 a.m., three armed men entered the Tip Top Barber Saloon on Clock Towers in Montego Bay, and held the occupants at gunpoint.

The gunmen ordered the customers and the barber to lie on the floor, but a Police Sergeant who was also a customer at the barbershop, challenged the men, who fired at the policeman hitting the truck operator in his leg.

The gunmen ran from the shop and escaped in the area on foot, meanwhile other officers rushed to the location to assist the sergeant. On their arrival, the gunmen were long gone, so they assisted in transporting the wounded man to hospital where he was treated and admitted.
