Jamaica News: The Chinese community banded together and extended a donation to the Western Regional Health Authority, last Friday at the Beauty Queen warehouse in Montego Bay, St. James.
The donation supplied the health authority with sanitation items valued $5 million which included: hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, and napkins.
Mckoy’s news was able to secure an interview with Yangsen Li, a member of the Chinese community and businessman, who stated that Jamaica is the home of the Chinese community too and, as such, they came together to assists and best as possible to help their brothers and sisters.
“Our contribution is our way of expressing our appreciation, wherever we see a way, if possible, we will continue to give our support whenever we can.”
This donation is just one of many that the Chinese community has since given to Jamaican public. The community donated a small supply previously and the Jamaica Guangdong Association has donated items valued at $1.5 million to the St Elizabeth Municipal Corporation last week.
Mckoy’s News also secured an interview with Mayor of Montego Bay, Homer Davis, who emphasized the strength and long-standing unity of the Chinese community and Jamaica.
