Jamaica Crime News: Montego Bay Market Shot up – A male higgler was shot and seriously injured by two armed men, who chased him on the compound of the Charles Gordon Market, in Montego Bay, St James, on Tuesday morning, June 11.
The name of the wounded higgler is being withheld by the police.
Reports are that shortly after 7:45 a.m., the male vendor was at a section of the Charles Gordon Market known as Train Line, when he was attacked by the two men armed with handguns.
The men fired a barrage of gunshots at him, before catching up with him at the front of the market, where he was shot.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was treated and admitted in serious condition.
A large security detail was deployed in the area, and search carried out for the two gunmen, which proved futile.
