Montego Bay: Hotel Supervisor Held with Cocaine in Umbrella

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A 45-year-old man who is employed to a prominent resort hotel in Montego Bay,  St James as a supervisor was arrested and charged for Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act on Wednesday,  September 19.

The accused, John Michael Calvert, of Pelle Drive in Flankers, St James have since been charged with Possession of and Dealing in Cocaine.

Reports by the police are that about 11:20 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out routine checks along McKenzie Drive in Flankers,  when Calvert was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

He was stopped and searched, a drawstring bag which he was carrying contained 23 packages of cocaine.

Further search, led to the discovery of two parcels of cocaine concealed in the umbrella which he was carrying.

Calvert was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
