Local Government Minister Say the Montego Bay Fire Station Site, is Running Ahead of Schedule

Latest Jamaica News, Montego Bay (McKoy’s News): Montego Bay Fire Station Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie, said the Montego Bay fire station site is running ahead of schedule, coming in on budget and is expected to be completed on time, with the same budget that has been projected.

The minister who was speaking during a tour of the Barnett Street Fire Station site, in Montego Bay, St James, on the weekend, said he was not present at the groundbreaking which was held earlier this year.

As I explained there are certain procedures we have to abide to as a government and we took time, we got a lot of flogging, because we did not follow through on some of the previous commitments, Well we are here now, and my understanding after speaking with the Mayor, Mr Sweeny and the contractor, is that the project is running ahead of schedule,” the minister stated.

Minister Mckenzie toured the fire station site with other government representatives such as Mayor of Montego Bay. His Worship Homer Davis, Councillor Charles Sinclair, along with officers from the St James Fire Department, and the contracting team.
