Montego Bay Councillor Arrested for Allegedly Beating Elderly Man

A Montego Bay, St James councillor is behind bars after his involvement in a domestic dispute with another man on Friday.

Reports are that the councillor brandished his firearm after an exchange of heated words with the older gentleman. The matter escalated and the councillor is said to have beaten the man with this firearm.

The political representative was subsequently arrested and his firearm seized. An investigation has commenced into the matter.

It was further revealed that a warrant in relation to another matter had been issued for the councillor.

In his defense, the councillor contended that the outstanding warrant had been vacated by the court. He’s also alleging that he was attacked during the altercation with the elderly man.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.
