St James, Jamaica — Montego Bay Bomb Scare: Management of a call centre in Montego Bay, St James evacuated the building of over 100 employees this morning, after receiving several anonymous calls that a bomb was in the building.

Operations of a call centre in the parish of St James was closed on Tuesday, February 6, after threats of a bomb being in the building caused a security scare.

The Montego Police were informed at about 11:20 pm today that there was a bomb threat at the East Street building, in the parish this morning.

This news brought to the location, the bomb disposal experts of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the Jamaica Fire Brigade to secure the facility,

Over 100 employees were evacuated from the building.

The facility and surrounding areas were reportedly fully inspected and searched, but no bomb was found.

The building and the surrounding area is now declared safe by the authorities.
