Missing Baby Found, St James Bartender Taken into Custody

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: A 26 -year-old bartender and her boyfriend, who resides in Norwood, St James, were taken into custody by investigators attached to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse ( CISOCA), on Sunday morning,  after they were found in possession of a stolen three weeks old baby.

The identity of both accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Freeport police are that about 11:00 a.m. on Sunday,  a team of officers attached to CISOCA got intelligence that the three-weeks-old baby, who was kidnapped from the mother on the compound of the Cornwall Regional Hospital, several days ago, was with a common-law couple in Norwood community.

The police acted swiftly and carried out an operation at a section of the Norwood community known as Greens.

During the operation, the accused woman was seen at premises, with the child in her arms, The woman and her common-law husband were both taken into custody.

The child was kidnapped from her mother on Friday, while she was at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.

It is reported that the mother of the child asked the female to hold her baby until she returned from the restroom,  but upon her return, the child and woman were nowhere to be found.
